Our Dream Home Ideas…

Hey Guy’s,

Today marks the first day Tara and I write out our first vision together, or should I say, several visions for our dream home. As people who enjoy a variety of home layouts, landscapes, and decor, we really had to try to narrow down our choices. We believe it is of extreme importance to have something to look forward to! (and it is)

So, when we started to consider all the beautiful places to live in this country and abroad, we concluded, that the “LOCATION” was the most important factor. You can have the most beautiful home but if it’s not in the right place, then it’s not a dream home.

Tara and I thought about moving outside of the county, but after one long minute to think about it, we decided we would never be able to convince all of our family and friends to pack up and ship out. So, out of the country, is out of the question for now… One desire we both share is for is a newly developed piece of land. We love to have views of the landscape and a little extra room to breath! The climate is also a very important concern for us! If it gets below 25 or above 115, that could be rough!!! The other important issues to consider after the location of our dream home are, the “PEOPLE,” the “CULTURE,”and finally the “HOME LAYOUT” itself… Now with all these things in mind what we did, was come up with our top three choices…

DREAM HOME #1/NEW MEXICO

Above is a picture of a beautiful home in Sandi Park New Mexico. The 2010 HGTV dream home giveaway for this years sweepstakes. (Right in- between Albuquerque and Santa Fé New Mexico) Tara and I fell in love with all the HGTV dream and green homes from the previous years. So this year, we decided to go full force entering the contest with every attempt to increase our chances of winning!!!

It would be my pleasure to share some great confirmations I had about the dream and green homes for 2010 and why we are now compelled to enter the contest faithfully.

HERE IS MY FIRST STORY:

On 1/03/10 I remembered about the giveaway, so I went to http://www.hgtv.com/dream-home to find out more information about the home to enter the sweepstakes. That morning, I spoke with Tara about the dream home including detail, while expressing my desire to enter. She came right on board with me hoping and believing for a chance to win. Before lunch that day I was in prayer asking God for a clue to how many times we needed to enter the contest to be able to win. Right when I looked up, I saw a license plate in front of me with 917 as the last three digits. To be honest, I was hoping we wouldn’t have to send in that many entries to be able to win! (That’s a lot of stamps) Well, I couldn’t shake the number…

So, on my way to pick up Tara for lunch, I told her about the number 917. At the same time, I was still open to looking for confirmations with other numbers. We saw the number 44, four times over lunch. That sounds a little more reasonable in stamp cost. Haha… Later that day, Tara had a special order at work for a man in Albuquerque with 917 as the last 3 digits of his invoice number. WOW! Another nice confirmation but wait, it gets better… When we arrived at home later that evening we both sent in our sweepstakes entry, then I noticed there were 44 days left in the contest… (Ah ha) That convinced me that 917 was going to be the number of entries we needed to send in. After we finished viewing the walk-through, we jumped over to http://blog.hgtv.com/greenhome/2009/06/28/hgtv-green-home-2010-first-location-clue/ to see the 2010 green home. If you notice on the blog post for Jun 28th, there are several pictures giving clues to the location of the next green home. After reviewing the site for a while I learned about the home’s location, floor plans, and other important details, which brings me to,

MY SECOND STORY:

The next morning I went to a goodwill clearance store where everything is thrown into large bins. Within the first 15 sec in the first bin I went up to, I found this hat. Immediately I thought of the dream home right outside of Albuquerque, in Sandia Park. Within 30 seconds of sifting through this bin, I found this archway. I was stunned to notice the same archway on the green home clue page. (So I bought them)

These objects are very special to us! They have given us a reason to believe we could be one of the lucky winners of the HGTV’s giveaway homes…

THE LIGHTHOUSE

Okay let me back up for a second to tell you what happened the day before I had ever viewed 2010 dream home website. I had a dream of a lighthouse… There wasn’t too much information in my dream other than this distinctive picture of a lighthouse in my dream. The next morning I was telling Tara about a few things that stuck out to me in my dreams that night. (We always share our dreams with each other) Throughout that day, I saw four lighthouses in different unexpected places. Then the next day is when I stumbled across the DEC 31st blog entry, where Mary asked what people would do with the 500,000 prize money included with the home. WOW! What is up with this lighthouse thing? The next day is when I saw the Jun 28th blog entry  for the 2010 green home. Picture of the lighthouse from my dream in Plymouth Massachusetts. I’m pretty much in a state of awe about this whole thing…

DREAM HOME #2/PLYMOUTH MASSACHUSETTS

DREAM HOME #3/REDDING CALIFORNIA

If we could move anywhere in the world in this season of our lives, we would choose this country style home in Redding, Ca. When we consider the location, people, culture, and home layout, this would be our #1 choice!
